Who we are
This website is operated by GovComments ("we", "us"). We are the controller of the personal data described in this policy. You can contact us about privacy at govcommentssupport@gmail.com or through our contact page.
What we collect and why
No accounts. We do not ask for your name, email address or any other personal information to use this site.
Searches. When you type in the search box, your search words are sent to our database to return results. We do not store searches or link them to you.
Technical logs. Our hosting provider (Vercel) and database provider (Supabase) automatically record basic technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type, the pages requested and the time. This is used to keep the site secure and working. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in operating a secure, reliable website (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). These logs are kept by those providers for limited periods under their own policies; we do not keep separate copies.
Cookies and advertising
At present this site does not use advertising or tracking cookies. We plan to show advertising from third-party networks in the future. When we do, those networks may use cookies or similar technologies to measure and personalize ads. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, we will ask for your consent before any non-essential cookies are used, and you will be able to change or withdraw your choice at any time. Our legal basis for those cookies will be your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR). We will update this policy to name the networks we use.
Who receives data
We share data only with service providers that run the site for us: Vercel, Inc. (hosting) and Supabase, Inc. (database), and, once enabled, advertising partners. We do not sell your personal information.
International transfers
Our service providers are based in the United States, so data may be processed there. Where data from the EEA, UK or Switzerland is transferred, it is protected by safeguards recognized under data protection law, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or, where applicable, the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.
Public records on this site
The comment letters and organization names shown here come from public records filed with federal agencies. We list organizations only and do not publish comments filed by private individuals. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest, and the public's, in transparency about who takes part in federal rulemaking. If you believe information on this site is about you and should be corrected or removed, please contact us.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask us for access to your personal data, to correct or delete it, to restrict or object to our use of it, to receive a copy in a portable format, and to withdraw consent at any time. To make a request, contact us at govcommentssupport@gmail.com. We will respond within one month. If you are in the EEA or UK and are not satisfied with our response, you have the right to complain to your local data protection authority (in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office).
Residents of some U.S. states have similar rights under state privacy laws. You can use the same contact address for those requests.
Automated decisions
We do not make decisions about you based solely on automated processing that have legal or similarly significant effects.
Children
This website is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA), and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
